Southland Scleroderma get-together

You don’t want half the population to suffer scleroderma just so you can hold bigger get-togethers but in Southland, Heather Milligan says a small group has grown into a slightly larger group that meets for support regularly.

It’s a similar group to those active in Lower Hutt (covering Greater Wellington) and Palmerston North. Heather writes:

Thanks to Maureen Kirby for inviting Joseph Wheeler, a local podiatrist, to speak on foot care and how a podiatrist can help with in-soles and other bits and pieces to make our feet more comfortable. Thanks to Lynette for putting her feet forward so we see at close range problems we can have (very awkward to look at our own feet).

Maureen spoke about how she had just returned from a rheumatology conference in France. She made her trip come to life and so interesting, not only with what she heard at the conference but her holiday on the continent. Thanks to all who attended and made the newcomers welcome and special thanks to Maureen for getting us organised.
